I love kayaking but most of all I love canoe slalom. I try and train as much as possible usually around 6 days a week. The bigger the white water the more fun and interesting it gets. Most of my white water training for slalom takes place at Nottingham national white water sports centre also know as HPP. But my home water is on the river Goyt at Manchester canoe club. Kayaking pictures
I also have a passion for capturing the best images possible and sharing them to the kayaking community. I am a paddler my self so I know what to expect this helps me to predict where to get the best actions shots. I’m not running this as a business so I don’t need to charge so all of my images I take are FREE. This then means you get some great photos of yourself for nothing. My Sports
I try to take part in as many sports as possible the only thing that holds me back is the amount of time I have. You might be able to see that all of these sports have something in common; they all provide a great rush of adrenaline. When I do have the time I love to take part in these sports. It’s also nice to get to do the mountain biking, skiing and bouldering as I mainly just do kayaking but yet kayaking never gets boring. -

Building websites and getting them ranked high is another thing I love to do and it’s all self-taught. I have built websites for several kayaking athletes including Lizzie Neave.
What is canoe slalom?
- Canoe slalom is a water sport, which involves paddlers kayaking down a river, which has gates hanging down from cables. There are red gates and green gates. The green gates you paddle down stream through and the red gates you paddle upstream. You are timed which creates the element of competition. If you hit/touch a gate you incur a 2 second penalty added to your final time, if you miss a gate you incur a 50 second penalty. Courses are generally around 100 seconds long and consist of between 18-25 gates of which 6 or 7 gates are upstream (red gates).
There are 5 divisions (division 4 through to Prem) and each slalom event is tailored to that division. This gives paddlers an indication of how difficult the slalom course will be. The higher up the division the more challenging the water becomes and once you compete in the top division this includes paddling white water, weirs and drops.
